Desert Water Agency crews are installing a water service line at the request of the Agua Caliente Band of Cahuilla Indians for its new Cultural Center at Indian Canyon and Andreas Road in Palm Springs.

The project was originally scheduled to occur before the Indian Canyon two way conversion, however the tribe rescheduled it several times.

Work along Indian Canyon Drive started Tuesday, Jan. 21 and should be completed by the end of the month.

Here’s what you can expect:

  • Intermittent lane reduction on northbound Indian Canyon Drive from just south of Tahquitz Canyon Way to Andreas Road
  • A lane will remain open in each direction
  • Equipment and vehicles from Desert Water Agency and its contractors in the area between 6:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. weekdays
  • No work on weekends

The new water service line will provide potable water and fire protection for the tribe’s new Cultural Center.

Thank you for your patience as we complete this project.
