Final 2020 Census data will soon be available, and will likely require Desert Water Agency to redraw its division maps. DWA will hold a public hearing at 8 a.m. on Sept. 21 to gather input on the communities and principles it should consider during the mapping process.
The public can attend the virtual meeting via phone by calling 877-309-2073 and using access code 567-821-885. Check back closer to the meeting date for a GoToMeeting link to join the virtual meeting via video.
The public can also submit information regarding the proposed division boundaries for the redistricting process by sending e-mail to outreach@dwa.org.
Per legal requirements, this meeting is held before draft maps are drawn. Maps will be available for public review prior to adoption.
Desert Water Agency transitioned from at-large to division elections in November 2020 with its first division election. Currently, two Board Members were elected to divisions and the remaining three serve at large.
For questions about the process, send email to outreach@dwa.org
