Desert Water Agency has hybrid (digital/print) curriculum for students in grades 4, 6 and 10 to cover local water issues, while supporting Common Core and Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS). These lessons are available for free and can be integrated into your classroom at your convenience. DWA can also supplement the lessons with in-person presentations about careers in the water industry. If you're interested in sharing this with your students, email outreach@dwa.org or fill out an interest form located on our education page.
On Saturday, October 29 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. there is a great opportunity for teachers, substitutes, parent-teachers to learn more about water and how to teach students in an engaging and impactful way. Coachella Valley Water District, Desert Water Agency's neighbor, presents the Project WET 2022 workshop. Join CVWD Educators and Whitewater Preserve Education Staff for a workshop that will provide educators with an abundance of tools and hands-on activities. All WET activities are tied to Common Core and the NGSS. Participants will receive a WET Guide. A light breakfast and lunch will be provided. Please see attached flyer for registration information.
