Desert Water Agency plans to perform a leak detection survey in several areas throughout our water distribution system starting Feb. 26. (Please see attached maps below for information.)

We have contracted with E Source to conduct this survey scheduled to last about two to three weeks.

During the leak detection survey, E Source will be training DWA team members on inspecting water infrastructure using specialized equipment to identify and locate leaks.

E Source leak detection technicians and DWA personnel may wear headphones and carry listening rods or other special equipment to listen to customer water meters, hydrants, and water valves.

Most work will occur between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. If needed, work in heavily traveled areas may occur at night or early in the morning to avoid traffic congestion.

Small or hidden leaks that are not visible at the surface can add up and increase water losses. Proactive leak surveys help DWA identify, locate, and fix hidden leaks before they become a major problem. This helps reduce water loss and increases efficiency in our system.
