Desert Water Agency is replacing several aging water pipelines throughout our system to help improve water reliability, decrease repair costs and reduce water loss. Installation of new pipeline in your neighborhood began in March and is now finished, pending a final project walk through. (Please see map.)

DWA hired a contractor to do the work. Please be considerate of workers while driving in the project area. Their safety is a top priority.

What to expect:

  • Slowed traffic (lanes reduced) and limited access
  • ‘No parking signs’ posted along the street as necessary
  • Access to property to remain intact (if we are blocking, we’ll happily move upon request)
  • Noise from construction 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays (no work on weekends or Agency observed holidays)
  • Equipment and vehicles from Desert Water Agency and its contractors
  • Temporary paving will be put in place before final paving is done at a later date
  • Water service should remain on except for a brief period (less than half a day) for some customers toward the end of the project
  • DWA or its contractors will notify customers of any water outage in advance

While we understand that this project causes inconvenience, it is an essential part of our responsibility to provide clean, reliable water to you and your neighbors. We appreciate your patience throughout the project. If you have any questions about the project, please contact Gerardo Maldonado, Staff Engineer, at Gmaldonado@dwa.org or (760) 323-4971, ext. 141. For other inquiries, please contact Xochitl Peña, Public Affairs Manager, at Xpena@dwa.org or (760) 323-4971, ext. 272.
