Desert Water Agency is partnering with the California Department of Water Resources (DWR) to construct monitoring wells in several locations in our service area. These wells will provide valuable information on groundwater basin levels, water quality, and the condition of the underground aquifer.
The project will install a new monitoring well at the north end of Sunrise Way near the Four Seasons Community (see attached map).
DWR has hired a contractor to do the work, which is expected to start the week of April 14, 2025. The project is anticipated to be completed in summer 2025.
Please be considerate of workers in and around the project area. Their safety is a top priority.
What to expect:
- Traffic impact is expected to be minimal
- Access to project will be via Sunrise Way
- ‘No parking signs’ posted along the street, as necessary
- Access to property to remain intact (if we are blocking, we’ll happily move upon request)
- Roads will be open to local traffic including emergency, delivery, trash and street sweeping vehicles
- Possible noise from construction 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays (occasional weekend work may be necessary)
- Equipment and vehicles from DWR and its contractors
- Project will not affect water service to customers in the Four Seasons neighborhood
While we understand that this project may cause inconvenience, it is an essential part of our responsibility to sustainably manage water supply and water availability for our customers. We appreciate your patience throughout the project.
