At a recent Board meeting, DWA awarded some of its customers for the steps they've taken to save water. DWA and CV Water Counts recognized a homeowner, a business and a public entity for their outstanding projects replacing grass with desert landscaping. DWA also gave a special award to the City of Palm Springs for their efforts to save water during the drought restrictions period.
City properties used 28.5% less water during this period than in 2013, Which was above Desert Water Agency's average of 24% and also above the statewide average of 21%. The City saved enough water to fill 469,000 fire trucks. DWA's Board of Directors presented the award to the Mayor, Robert Moon and the Assistant City Manager, Marcus Fuller.
