Desert Water Agency has three Division seats up for election in November.

DWA, which manages water in the western third of the Coachella Valley and provides tap water service to Palm Springs and a portion of Cathedral City, is run by a publicly elected Board of Directors with five members.

DWA will host 2 Candidate Workshops next week for people interested in serving on the DWA Board of Directors and learning more about public service.

  • July 25 @ noon at the Desert Hot Springs Library, 14380 Palm Drive, Desert Hot Springs (lunch provided)
  • July 26 @ 8 a.m. at DWA’s office, 1200 S. Gene Autry Trail, Palm Springs (breakfast provided)

RSVP is required for a headcount for meals. Send RSVP e-mail to Outreach@dwa.org

At the workshops we will provide background information on DWA and what serving on the board entails. We will also share information on running for office and the nomination period which runs until August 12.

Public service can be very rewarding and is a great opportunity for people who want to get involved in their community.

DWA Board of Directors set policy and make important decisions that affect customers and our community.

Directors receive payment each day they attend an approved meeting for DWA and can opt into health care and other benefits. Board seats in Divisions 1, 2 & 3 are up for election. DWA voters living within those districts can elect representatives on Nov. 8, 2022.

Division 1 encompasses neighborhoods in Palm Springs north of Vista Chino and stretches into north Palm Springs and areas surrounding Desert Hot Springs.

Division 2 & 3 include portions of Desert Hot Springs.

DWA does not provide tap water service to DHS but does manage and import water to the region, which is used in the Desert Hot Springs area.
