Desert Water Agency is taking another big step to help customers use water more efficiently.
Starting in July, DWA will begin installing 12 AMI towers on Agency owned properties across our service area. These towers are a key part of our new Advanced Metering Infrastructure, or AMI, which will support conservation and efficiency.
The towers will allow us to collect water use data remotely instead of sending staff to read meters manually. That means better efficiency for us — and faster, more detailed data for customers.
With the new towers, customers will eventually be able to track their hourly water use online. This can help spot leaks early, avoid surprises on bills, and support everyday conservation.
The goal is to have an online dashboard available within the next few years.
These improvements will help us all use water smarter — and make the most of every drop.
