Maps that show how Desert Water Agency’s service boundary could be divided for elections by division are available on the agency’s website at www.dwa.org/divisions.
Two public hearings are planned for customers to share input on the maps.
- Monday, April 15 at 10:30 a.m. at Carl May Community Center, 11711 West Drive, Desert Hot Springs.
- Tuesday, April 16 at 8 a.m. at Desert Water Agency, 1200 S. Gene Autry Trail, Palm Springs.
DWA is exploring a transition from at-large elections that allows customers to elect the Board of Directors, to division elections which breaks the service area into five areas with customers voting only for candidates from within their own division.
Two public hearings to gather input and share information were held in February – one in Palm Springs and another in Desert Hot Springs.
Draft maps have been created to show possible voting divisions. The public is invited to review the draft maps at our office in Palm Springs or on our website.
