2016/17 is shaping up to be one of the wettest winters on record. On February 6, DWA asked the State Water Board in a formal comment letter to let the drought emergency regulation to expire. DWA spoke to the State Water Board in January at a workshop they held on the topic.

Despite requests from water agencies across the state, on February 8, the State Water Board decided to extend the drought emergency through the end of the water year. In May, the Board will reconsider and allow agencies to give feedback.

DWA is currently asking its customers to save 10-13% compared to 2013 for the purposes of long-term sustainability.

DWA remains committed to working with the state to reflect the needs of our community.
